Kerrisdale Overview

Ensconced in Vancouver’s desirable west side, the Kerrisdale neighbourhood is located with 37th Avenue to the north, 49th Avenue at its southern boundary, Blenheim Street to the west and a triangular shape that goes down to 57th and Cypress near the eastern border. A mature, well-established neighbourhood with tree-lined streets and mostly single-family homes, Kerrisdale real estate also includes a mix of condominiums and townhomes that are popular among older retirees. A traditional home to the city’s forefather’s, Kerrisdale has many residents of British descent in addition to a growing percentage of homes where Chinese is primarily spoken. Recognized as an affluent part of the city, an impressive variety of shopping and dining options are available along West 41st Avenue. “The Village” as it’s called by the locals, is a distinct and appealing city shopping hub for the well-established on Vancouver’s west side. Recreation at Kerrisdale Centennial Park includes the Kerrisdale Community Centre and indoor swimming pool and skating at the Kerrisdale Cyclone Taylor Arena. Nearby is the challenging 18-hole public McCleery Golf Course.

Education options are many in the Kerrisdale community with 4 elementary schools in the much sought after neighbourhood. The local high school is Point Grey Secondary School with Magee and Prince of Wales Secondary nearby. Kerrisdale is also home to the highly-respected independent Crofton House School for girls.
