Kitsilano Overview

Kitsilano is easy frontrunner for Vancouver’s ‘Most Popular’ neighbourhood. Home to middle and upperclass residents because of its close proximity to downtown and its enviable parks and beaches, ‘Kits’ is located between English Bay, Alma Street to the West, Burrard Street to the East and 16th Avenue to the South. Not as ethnically diverse as other Vancouver neighbourhoods, Kitsilano’s storied past of 1960s counterculture saw the birthplace of Greenpeace. Today it is home to the Lululemon Head Office, one of the city’s organic food hubs and with extensive restaurants and retail along West 4th Avenue and West Broadway. Young professionals, older couples, students and fitness fanatics are part of the famous ‘Kits’ culture.
