Oakridge Overview

A multicultural residential and retail enclave right in the heart of the city, Oakridge is a small desirable neighbourhood in Vancouver, boarded by West 41st Avenue to the north, Ontario Street to the east, Oak Street to the west and West 49th Avenue to the south. Oakridge was one of the last neighbourhoods to be built in Vancouver in the mid-1950s, on one of the original CPR land grants. Today with convenient Canada Line rapid transit stations at 41st and 49th Avenues, exciting new access and vitality has come to Oakridge with significant developments planned in the near future. Oakridge has a large Chinese population with 50 percent of residents speaking Chinese languages. The neighbourhood also has a strong Jewish presence. Today Oakridge boasts the ideal blend of tree-lined streets, attractive housing options and enticing shopping areas.

Oakridge is well served by excellence in education with top city schools and colleges nearby. Langara College, Van Horne & Jamieson Elementary, Sir Winston Churchill & King David High School and Vancouver College are all located in and around the leafy confines of Oakridge.
