Quilchena Overview

Recognized for its outstanding family living, the beautiful Quilchena neighbourhood in Vancouver is located with the wide boulevard of King Edward Avenue to the north, Larch and Puget Drive to the west, Marguerite and Cypress Street to the east, while West 37th Avenue anchors the southern border. The Quilchena neighbourhood is a combination of affluent young families and many older residents. Excellent housing options include lovely single-family homes, low-rise condos in addition to lower rise rental units. Quilchena’s three mini-neighbourhoods within a neighbourhood all offer a unique appeal. Bordering Shaughnessy, many elegant homes have the feeling of a larger estates. Second is the are surrounding the Arbutus Shopping Centre with many mid and low-rise housing options. This is very popular with older residents of the city who are looking to downsize. The other mini-neighbourhood is around Prince of Wales Secondary School with many single-family homes offering spectacular mountain and water views. Quilchena is home to the prestigious Arbutus Club, a landmark in Vancouver since 1964. Nearby magnificent Quilchena Park features jogging paths, dog walking, baseball diamonds and soccer pitches.

Excellence in education in the neighbourhood includes Quilchena Elementary with Prince of Wales and Point Grey Secondary Schools just outside its southern border. Arbutus Street is the major north-south artery through Quilchena with excellent city bus services. It is home to Finest At Sea Seafood Boutique, famous for owning their own fish boats. Arbutus also offers easy access to YVR airport and Highway #99 the the US border.
