Victoria Overview

Victoria is a vibrant suburban family oriented neighbourhood on Vancouver’s Eastside
starting at 16th Avenue to the North which turns into 15th and Vaness Avenue, with 41st Avenue to the South, Argyle Street to the west and Nanaimo Street on its eastern border. Centred around Victoria Drive, this Vancouver area has long been a popular destination for immigrants. First Italian, German and Eastern European. Today it’s largely a Asian community with 67 percent of residents with Chinese as the dominant language. Punjabi, Tagalog and Vietnamese are also prominent. Most of the homes in the Victoria neighbourhood are single family dwellings where residents enjoy the benefits of being close to the downtown core. Elementary schools in the immediate area include Lord Selkirk Elementary School with Sir James Douglas and Tecumseh Elementary nearby. Gladstone Secondary School and David Thompson Secondary are well known high schools in the Victoria Drive neighbourhood. Plus Khalsa School is an an easy commute.
